In this chapter, we learn that the marquis's wife, yoko, has been transformed into a bug, and that she has ruined her dress. The marquis, however, is determined to find out what has happened to her. He has found a "juicy little pillar" that he plans to use to prepare yoko for her new job. He tells his wife that he has brought her "some thing i.d like to see" , and she is now within his grasp. She has lost her fox porwit, and he wants to go back to her and tell her the truth about her fate.
