In this chapter, we learn that the reader's response cards are the deciding factor in the success or failure of a story. If the story continues as planned, it will be canceled. If it does not, however, the reader will have no choice but to accept the story as it is. We learn that in order for the reader to accept a story, he or she has to be emotionally moved by the story. In other words, if the reader is moved by a scene in the story, they are more likely to buy the story and buy the characters in it. This means that if the story does not succeed in drawing the reader in, it is because the story is not good enough for them.
