He's super excited about it, but he also knows that no one will be able to come to his first book signing, which is set for the following day. The narrator is all, "Gee, this is going to be a disaster" , but then he realizes that he can't be jealous of the author's success, because the author will be the first person to sign his book. He wants to go to the first signing, but the author won't let him. The author, however, is psyched about the fact that he has signed so many books that he feels like a "fan" .
