The chapter opens with a warm touch from Kim's father, who comes home every day and pats Kim on the head. Kim wonders if her mother knew how warm her father's touch was, but she can't breathe and feels a little embarrassed. Kim asks her father if he's going to hold onto her forever, and he says that he doesn't know why she's so confident. Kim says that she was once a fox, and that her mother married a human, but when she was five, her mother left her father to marry someone else. Kim feels that her situation is like a fox's, where the people who love her can be taken from her and changed by others, whether she likes it or not, and she can only surrender and adapt. She says that as long as she and her pack live alongside humans, they need to think about procreating. Kim tells her pack to be more responsible and not to say that their feelings for her are real, because if they say that they love a fox or whatever, it doesn1t matter. She tells her father that she is going to love him even more and that she won1t let him go until he and his pack settle and accept her.
