The two men agree that they'll never run away together, and that it'll all be his fault if they don't run away. The young man gives the bead to his father, who's watching them, and says that this is the last time he will ever see the world like this. He says that they met in haste, and they hugged each other, and then they said goodbye. They've been holding out for seven days, and now they're ready to leave.
