The scene opens on the floor of the bait house, where the young master slaps his way out of the room. He's upset that his master has come back to the house to be his "ingredient" . He wants to know where his mother is, and he wants her to tell him where she is. The young master tells his master that he can find anyone he wants, but that he has to do what he says. The master asks if the floor in the kitchen is dirty, and the master tells him that it's because he's made it so dirty that he needs to go get a shower. He tells the master to take the girl to the second-floor bathroom, where he can get a bath. He curses the master every day for making the floor dirty, but the master refuses to listen to him. He asks if he can take a bath in the hot-spring pool, but he can't because the ceiling hasn't yet been repaired. He says that he'll curse the master religiously until the ceiling is repaired, and then he wants to find him on his own.
