About This Chapter
The witch of the cage asks if there's anything in the archives that she needs. The witch says that she's a secret investigator who's been looking for some ancient books to investigate the city's serial murder cases. She's worried that the murderer will be hiding in school, so she wants to know if the enchantresses have anything to do with the murders. She tells the witch that if she gets too close to her, she'll put her life in danger. The two of them talk about how cool it is that they're both secret agents, and the witch says she admires him even more now that he's treating her like a student. She wonders if there are other places in the world where she can learn magic, and she asks if she can call her sister from now on. She asks if the bite marks on her sister's body could have been from a beast, and he says no. He says that if the beasts were living fossils, they would be like living fossils. He then asks if he can call his sister, who is asleep. She says no, she can't call him sister anymore. He asks if it's possible that a tiger or a grizzly bear could have snuck into the magical world, and then he asks if anyone has seen a blood-sucking bear. He doesn't want to argue with him, because he already knows who the murderer is: an enchantress.
