In this chapter, Shmoop tells the audience that he wants to thank Shao-Yin for visiting him. He wants to invite him to dinner, but he doesn't want the family to know that he's happy with his job. He also wants to know what Shao Yin told him about him that day. He asks if he told him that he was "pitiful" or if he asked him to "go easy on me" or something, and he says that he didn't ask him to do anything. He feels like he has a mother again, and that he can live happily in his house. He then asks why he left after that, and she says that she and her dad don't know what's going on. She says that sometimes she can see her dog from her balcony, and it seems like she's being watched. She then asks if it's farming, or esports, or something like that. She tells him that she'd like to try something new, and since she'll be able to replace him without feeling guilty, she wants him to go for it.
