When the scene opens, the narrator is in a bad mood. He has spent a great deal of time on the costumes, but he is not in the best mood for the fight. He feels that the fight is not as fierce as it should be, and that the lovers look like lovers. He tells the director that the lines in the script are too straightforward, and he has to alter them. The director tells him that the scene will go on the following day, and the two of them hope that everything will be fine. He then tells the narrator that he wants to see him in the "light yellow hanfu" , which the hanfu artist, xia jie, has altered to make him look like a woman. The narrator is confused, because he has been fooled by his own delusion that he is a beautiful woman.
