The chapter opens with a soliloquy about the "spinning sky" and the "chatting people" in the distance. The narrator tells us that the sky is "like a dream" and that he can't believe that his heart is speeding up so fast. He says that he needs a year to get used to the idea that he's in love with someone else. He also says that if he doesn't become an "idol with over 10 million fans" , he'll have to pay for the firm's investment in him. He adds that he won't "spare no effort" for the next year because he needs time to "grow" and "stand with you" . He's going to go to a school that he applied to, and that's where he will get his degree. He tells the narrator that he had been hesitating about going to the school he applied for, but that the entrance exam he took was just his "backup plan"
