In this chapter, we are introduced to Mr. Ming and Mr. James, two young men who have fallen in love. Ming has been diagnosed with a "love syndrome" , which means that he is in love with someone. He and James have been in love for many years, but Ming has not been able to get his love back. Now, Ming is determined to prove to James that love is real and that he can be trusted. Ming asks James if he is currently in love, and James says that he has not, but that he will be in love soon.
