The next morning, the Governess wakes up to find her lover in bed with another woman. The Governess tells him that she saw him sleeping on the floor in her bedroom the night before, and that she took pity on him and put him in her bed. She then goes on to explain that she fell asleep in his bedroom because he got drunk and refused to let her go. She gives him a menu of expensive dishes and tells him to enjoy them.
