In this chapter, we learn that cheng is still in love with Zong, and that the two of them have decided to go back to China together. Worried that he might not accept her, Zong tells us that he was forced to come to see her because she confessed to him that she admires him. Zong says that she is afraid that he will hate her, but that she did not dare to tell him because she feared that he would fight his family if he found out. He says that he is not sure if Zong's mother wants to leave, but he is sure that she does not want to leave. He tells Zong that he treats her as his friend, and not as his rival. He adds that he cannot bear to hit Zong because he treats Zong so well. He also says that Zong will not abuse his power, but will not press people to the brink because of jealousy.
