Now that he's accepted his brother's offer to come live with him in Paris, the young man wants to know why he chose to come to Paris in the first place. First, he tells his brother that he was told that Paris was a big city and that he had never been to one before. Now, he says, he'll show Paris the longest river and the largest sea, and that's it. The young man is envious of his brother, who's changed so much in such a short period of time. He's also envious of the fact that Paris is full of "indecent people" , and he wants to be rid of them. He wants to make sure that Paris doesn't trap him in a way that makes him jealous. He also wants to find out if Paris planned the Latin dance class as well, because he thinks it's weird that he didn't plan it from the beginning.
