About This Chapter
The Governess is on her way to school when she runs into her brother-in-law . He's clearly avoiding her, and she can't figure out what he's talking about. She tells him to listen to her seriously, because she doesn't want their relationship to be "ambiguous" before the holidays. He agrees, and the Governess promises to treat him to a "meal" this weekend. She says she'll wait until the holidays are over before she decides what to do with her relationship with her father. She's a police officer, so she's happy to be accepted by the society she works for. Her father, on the other hand, is in love with his wife, and he wants her to be a part of his family. He asks her why she'd want to be part of their family if she're not a good influence. She responds by saying that her father isn't like that, but because he is her closest friend, he can still be a good friend to her. She wonders how she could possibly fall for her father if she loves him only as a friend. .
