About This Chapter
When Cai Mingyu asks why he is there, the young man tells him that he just came to the market to buy costumes for the festival. When he saw the cat outside the cafe, he knew that it was a stray from his village. He tells the boy that his mother was allergic to the hair of the cat, so he did not bring her any home. When the boy was young, he lived in a village full of stray cats. He says that he knew cats were like humans because they were living what they could eat, but to cats, they are poisonous. The mother has disappeared, and the boy blames it on his family. The boy tells the story of his pet cat, Mi, who was a puppy when he first brought her home, but when she grew up, her fur started to lose color and she got an infection. She was abandoned, and when the boy's family found out about it, they sent him away to the city.
