About This Chapter
In this short scene, King Lear's wife, Queen Durunna, tries to get her daughters to come to her house so that they can have a dance with her son-in-law, the Prince of Amaltea. She tells them to be polite and not to dance with "some stupid prince" because she doesn't want them to get married. She also tells them not to worry about selling her jewelry because they'll have enough money for food and beds. The girls are worried about the Prince, who they think is carrying a sword. He's clearly a relative of the Queen, but they don't think he's a real prince. They're worried that he'll steal their map and steal their food. The Queen tells the girls to be careful around the rocks because it's too cold to carry their armor around.
