About This Chapter
The wailer arrives at the Inn and tries to get Clopper to stop fighting him. Clopper says that he knows what he's doing and that he doesn't want Clopper there. He tells Clopper that tomorrow they're going back to the Inn for the night and that they'll be back the next day for lunch and a salad. They don't seem to get along so well and Clopper asks Clopper if he'd like to have something to drink. He asks if Clopper's sister is rich and says that she probably is, but Clopper won't let him tell anyone. He then asks why Clopper isn't at home and says it's because he misses his sister and his family. Clopp says he'll tell the truth but that he can't say it to anyone and that his father was "snobbish." Clopper tells him to stop talking and says he can show him how to cook good food and be nice to people like Clopper. He says that Clopper is just about to get robbed and asks if he can take off his armor and leave the Inn to have some fun with Clopper and the other guests. When Clopper refuses to give him any food or drink, Clopper gets all huffy and says the horse that was about to stab Clopper was "about to kill me." Clopp tells him that the horse would have killed him if he hadn't been so nice to the little lad.
