Artie and the gang are in the garden, and they're surrounded by an army of loyalists. Coyle is playing dice, and the fish factory is getting busted open. Artie tells the gang that he just wishes he knew sooner so he could wear something warm. He tells them about a time when a prince renounced all his vows and fought for the right to rule his kingdom as a mercenary. The warrior lost faith in himself, and his army started to wane. He tried to prove his loyalty to the knights, but they refused him. He came back to the kingdom, and inherited the throne. However, he also inherited the realm of magic, which allowed each ruler to make one wish during his or her reign. The young king of Nargaban conquered the princess' realm, imprisoned her knights, and began to rule the entire kingdom. He moved through the body of his followers wherever he pleased. The new king of nargaban is named Abdiel, and he's been elected king of the kingdom. Abdiel asks Artie if he can really do what he fears the most, and Artie says he can't, because the garden is collapsing. He says he'd like to share in the profits, but now that the king has been elected, he has nothing to offer him. As for the gold, it's gone.
