Paul and Asahi arrive at their hotel, where they are met by Hiroshi and Mishima, who have brought food for them. Paul is excited to see them together, but he wishes he had a partner. Mishima tells him that it is normal for New Year's Eve in Japan to be crowded with people, so he should try to get home early. Asahi and Hiroshi are planning to cook dinner for the two of them, and Paul says he will take some more pictures of the sights. He is exhausted, but the view of the cmereuck river makes him forget how tired he is. He asks Mishima if he can bring beer, but she says he is always busy with his work. He thanks her for the photo, and says that he has learned to like himself a little.
