In this chapter, Mishima and Asahi discuss the history of Italy. Mishima explains that the city of Alberobello was built in 72 AD and that it was completed in 80 AD by 40 thousand slaves. She says that she is happy that they have been able to preserve the city's history for future generations. Asahi tells Mishima that she and her fiance are in love and that everyone in the city says that if she kisses him, he will be able to come back to Rome.
