In this short scene, Shmoop introduces us to two of his new friends, Asahi and em>Kinn/em>, who are on a trip to the U.S. He tells us that he and Asahi have been friends since they were in high school, but that they haven't seen each other in a long time. They're both in love with each other, he says, and they're planning to visit each other soon. As he's talking to Asahi, he notices that she's wearing a hat that's made out of wine bottles, which Shmo is very fond of. He also notices that Asahi's hair is very long, which reminds him of his own, and he thinks it's a good sign that she looks so young. He's glad to see her, because she reminds him so much of himself. He says that he'd be happy to tell everyone that he loves her, even if he were a girl, because he thinks he would be able to say that they are in love. Shmo's not sure how to respond to this, but he does say that he can't wait to see them again.
