The next morning, Paul returns to the apartment where Hiroshi and Asahi have been staying. He tells Hiroshi that he feels calmer when he is with Asahi, and Hiroshi replies that it is because he is holding his hands. Paul says that people in Europe don't like to chill their beer, whereas people in Japan like to enjoy the taste. Paul apologizes to Asahi for having lied to him about his love for Hiroshi. Asahi apologizes for making him blush, and Paul says he is sorry that he lied to her. He says he hopes that Hiroshi will change his mind about his feelings for her. Hiroshi tells him that he is the only person in the world he knows who loves him as much as he does. He adds that they went to the same school, but they didn't have any friends or anything like that. He asks if she has a moment, and she replies that she did. She says that she snapped a photo of him without thinking, and that she will cheer him on on the track. Paul tells her that she looked beautiful when she was running, and he says that his heart had raced faster than it has ever raced before. He also says that he knows that sex marriage is a sin, but that he doesn't care about it.
