About This Chapter
Sook Kim Yeoul, the princess, tells the prince that she does not refer to herself as "I," but as her "wife." She tells him that she only refers to herself once by mistake, and that she will finish her reading tonight. The kitchen sends gangjeong, a puffed rice cake, to the princess as a late snack. The princess is particularly fond of this snack, and she asks the kitchen to pack it for her. She tells the kitchen girl that she wants to punish someone who invented embroidery. She says that the original korean word for this action is "to disguise," or to "to masquerade." The princess says that she was truly sorry that she could not protect the prince. She thanks the princess for her kindness, and the princess looks at her and says, "Thank you, so much the princess' life is too short." She says she will be paying more attention to the prince from now on, and says that he is staring at her while she is eating. She asks the princess to send a messenger, but the princess says she has to go back to her quarters.
