In this short scene, we learn that the girl we met earlier in the play, Crab, has fallen in love with the man we've just met, Mr. King, and that he's going to head home to wait for him. He's not the only one who's fallen for Crab, though: there's a lot of prettier girls out there, and Mr. Prince is one of them. Crab, however, doesn't seem to have a problem with that. He tells us that he has never wanted to be a "burden" to anyone, and he'd rather live on his own than be associated with someone else's company. He says he'll be the one to take care of Crab from now on. Crab is all, "I'm sure I won't be your girl, and I promise you that I'll never be your boyfriend" , and then he leaves to go home.
