He suggests that they spend the afternoon with him, and he suggests that he ask his grandparents for a present. He tells them that he can help them with a little open-air salon, and that he's not far from his grandparents' house. The narrator thanks everyone for their kind words, and they all head off to the school fair, where they're supposed to perform.
