About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a description of the political situation in Turkey. The country has been embroiled in a series of wars with neighboring Middle Eastern countries, and the Turkish president has been accused of being behind a plot to remove him from power. The chapter ends with a discussion of the signal that the animals use to control their movements. The signal is in the cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls movement, and it is thought that the signal will remember Uriah. Uriah asks Uriah if he has made any progress on finding the signal, and Uriah replies that he has, but that he does not think Uriah is ready to tell his wife how much he loves her, and how wrong he was about many things. He tells Uriah that the Russian women are dangerous, and that the Turkish military has placed tracking chips in all its scientists. The Turkish president had sent Uriah to use this signal to stop the Russians from killing Uriah, and blames Uriah on Uriah and his men. The entire Turkish security detail has been fired, as has Uriah's father, who seems to be in a good mood.
