In this chapter, Dr. Bledsoe explains how he came to be a psychiatrist at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California. He explains that he was hired because he was interested in helping the military build a new generation of electric vehicles and other advanced scientific devices. He also explains that his goal is to build a laboratory that can simulate zero gravity, the principle principle of the moon.
