In this chapter, the protagonist explains how he came to code and how he plans to continue his work in the future. He tells the reader that he is not afraid of the men in the Air Force because they are not as bad as he thinks they are. He says that he has heard that the men are nice enough, but that they are here to "kick his ass" . He praises Dr. sejic for saving the lives of many people, and he thanks Dr. loren for making him feel like he can live as long as he pleases. He also says that the General is watching the lab and that Dr. Snell is suspected of sabotaging his work there. The protagonist explains that he took the latest technology from the boys in the basement and used it to build a brain scanner that can be used to track the movements of people in the air. He plans to use the brain scanner to find out if the protagonist is married or not.
