The scene opens in the palace of Ulrica, where Ulrica greets her visitor, a plump pig with a large head. Ulrica tells the pig that she needs a warm belly for her aching feet. She then asks the pig to meet her fatboys, who have the "oddest" way of speaking. The pig agrees to meet them, and Ulrica leaves. She tells Ulrica that she is sorry that she has been considering the letter moron, mutiny, murder, malice, and that she wants to know what has happened to her sister, Aline. She asks Ulrica if she knows where Aline has gone, and she tells her that Aline is in the city of Salazen-Grum. She says that she forgives Ulrica for allowing Aline to go off on her own. She also says that her ugly little sister, mirana, can make anyone love her.
