The mad hatter returns to the scene of the previous night's adventure. He tells the gang that he's back, and that they're all still having tea. He says that the whole world is falling apart because of all the talk about the "bloody big head" being the "red queen" . This is a reference to the fact that the red queen is a symbol of the underground resistance against the white queen. The gang says that they need to get ready for the "futterwacken" day, when the queen will be wearing the crown again. The bloodhound is supposed to follow the gang, and the gang sings a song about how the bloodhound will follow them up to the queen's house. The group says that it's time for tea, but that they haven't yet had theirs. They joke that the "vagapal blade" went "snoop snack" , and left its head on the ground. They're not going to kill anything, they say, because they don't want to "slaughter anything." The gang asks if they have any idea of what the queen has done, but the madhatter says that he doesn't know. He's lost his "muchness," he says, and now he wants to know what's wrong with the queen.
