In this short scene, Horie tells us that he's just as good as anyone else in his class. He's even gotten a perfect score on his homework. Horie's got a crush on a popular boy named Kijima, who lives in a different part of town than he does. Kijima's family has connections in the business world, and he models for fashion magazines. But he doesn't have the same crush on Horie as the rest of the boys in the class do. So Horie decides to tell Kijima that he hates him.
