In this chapter, we learn that ryuuji has confessed his love for kana-morishita to Yumi. Yumi is shocked at the news, because she has always been a favorite of other girls, and she is afraid of being seen as weak. The two of them decide to hide their relationship from the other girls so that they will not be jealous of each other. They decide to pretend that they are family to each other so that no one will be able to guess that they have been friends for a long time. They also decide to play house with each other, pretending to be family while they have their feelings for one another. When they are alone, Yumi asks if they were going on a date, and he replies that they were already home. He tells her that he loves her, and that kana has been avoiding him ever since. He also says that he would have to hurt her if he had to, even if it meant hurting her friend, kamiki, who is in love with him. He asks her to take a walk with him, but she refuses, saying that she does not want to be seen as a family member. She tells him to go to the first aid room, but he tells her to go ahead with the rest of the day, since they have a clean-up to do. When she asks why he is crying, he says that by crying his heart out, he is able to see that he is further ahead of her.
