About This Chapter
The narrator laments that his worldly desires are "disappointing" as he prepares to leave for school for three and a half days. He wonders what he'll do if everyone finds out that he and his friend, kamiki, live together. He's not sure that it's a good idea, though, because he thinks that everyone is in their own "perfect little world" . He also thinks that, like morishita and kami before him, prince kido will be "a total available shock" to anyone who finds out about his and kamiki's living together. The narrator is a little worried about this, since he's worried that everyone will think that he is a "fast one kido" and a "hard no worker." He also worries that, as a "little on the slow-side" kido, he can't always be counted on to do the right thing. Tachibana asks him about his feelings for kamiki and he says that he already confessed his feelings to him, but that he hasn't yet gotten an answer from him. He says that if he talks about it, it will make him feel better. He suggests that they play some table tennis, and the narrator wonders if it might be okay for him to continue loving kamiki like this. He doesn't have romantic feelings for tachiban, he says, but he does want to be clear: he'd rather be alone with him than with anyone else. He goes on to say that he entered the boys' room by mistake, and that the night before, he was alone with his friend because he was in love with him. This time, he thinks, they'll be alone together.
