The chapter opens with a soliloquy by the Russian leader, Aleksander Denisov, in which he laments the fact that some of his men sided with the United States in the Russo-Japanese War. Denisov says that he has known of a boxing champion from Japan, and he plans to fight him. He says that the man will be sent to the gods domain, and that he will fight him with his own two hands. The Russian leader tells Denisov that he is sorry that he was talking to Shiva, but that Shiva had already given him all of the information he needed. The two men agree that the only way for the Americans to escape is through the hole they have made in the wall of the Russian capital, and they will use a rocket launcher to turn the hole around so that the Americans will crawl through it. They will also use a cannon to shoot down the American troops, who will be crawling through the wall.
