El and Camilla are walking home from school, and El tells Camilla that she's going to be the prom queen. Camilla says that El is the king of the school, so they can't let another girl steal the crown from her. El says that she has been scared to see Camilla since she first came to school, but now she wants her to enjoy the school's tradition of escorting the king to the prom. She says that everyone at the prom looks amazing, but that El feels like a mermaid or a cinderella. El is jealous, she says, because she feels like they're not having fun together. She asks if he eavesdropped on the conversation, and he says that he didn't know what the conversation was about, but thanks to her, he thinks it was a fight. El gets up to leave, but he's interrupted by the sound of someone grabbing him.
