In this chapter, we learn that Emiko has just gotten a new job, and she's already been drinking a lot. She tells us that she and Hiroyuki have been talking about their overseas project ever since they met each other. She says that Hiroyuki planned to send her overseas and leave her, but Emiko chose to stay and be friends with him. She asks Hiroyuki if he's reading this, and he says that he hasn't. She needs to talk to her, she says, but she doesn't know where to find her. She's going out with a guy at a mixer, and they're supposed to be going out together, but they'll have to go out with someone else. Emiko says that she'll forget Hiroyuki's drunk friend, because he'll never be able to forget her.
