A breathless kiss interrupts the conversation between the two women. The first woman asks the second if she is one of Saijo's friends. The second woman confesses that she has been friends with many of his friends, and that she would like to thank him when he returns home. The two women discuss the kimonos they have sent each other, and the second woman reveals that she only wears one of each of her friends' kimonos. The conversation turns to the fact that Saijo has been creeping closer and closer to her, asking her if she loves him as a person, or as a man. The woman says that she does not love him, but that she loves to be continued
