In this short scene, we meet the new king of Denmark, who is basking in the glory of his coronation. He's basking in his newfound wealth, but he's also basking in a new kind of glory : he has just hired a pretty girl to be his servant. The girl isn't pretty, but she's pretty enough to be in the king's company. The king asks the girl who she'll be choosing as his servant, and the girl says it's none other than the pretty girl he just hired. He asks her again, and this time she says yes.
