There are so many ouds in the tunnels that it's impossible to find them all. They can't get back to the gate, so they have to stay behind and wait for them to come running. They don't know what to do, and they're not sure if they'll be able to find their way back. They're worried that they've run out of food, and that they won't have enough to eat when they get back. Finally, they decide to call for the dragons to come back and give them a report.
