In this chapter, the cat knight explains how he came to be a dragon knight. He explains that a true dragon-knight must forge a bond with his dragon, otherwise he'll never be able to live up to his name. He tells the cat that he's done with his walk and that he hopes to avoid fighting so he can get some rest. The cat knight tells the others that he wants to stay away from the fighting, but he also tells them that he doesn't want to make a mess. He wants to clean up the mess right away, so he tells them to go to the captain and report the situation to him. The captain says that he hasn't heard from anyone, but that they've mobilized a great service. He asks the cat to tell him about a storm drainage channel that might be useful for a cat.
