The next morning, Roxane finds herself in a foul-smelling hotel room in New York City. She's been waiting for Roxane to return from her trip to Japan, but she hasn't heard from her since the night she found out that Roxane was in love with the company's president's daughter-in-law. Roxane is so upset that she can't sleep. She wakes up in the middle of the night and realizes that she's in a bad mood. She asks Roxane what's wrong with her, and Roxane says that she doesn't understand why Roxane didn't tell her that she was having an affair with her boss's son. She also tells Roxane that she has a lot of things to tell Roxane, including the fact that she used to be Roxane's sub-officer in Japan, and that she will be able to recognize Roxane if she tells him her real name. She then asks if Roxane went to New York, and she says yes, but that she had to leave her watch with Roxane because she wanted to wait for the boss to come back from his trip. When Roxane asks why she left her watch behind, she says that it was because Roxane insisted on waiting until the boss came back. When the boss finally comes back, she asks if she can see him, and he says that he's going to be closing for the day, so she'll have to wait until then. She feels like an idiot for having to wait so long for someone to show up at the office.
