In this chapter, we are introduced to Roxane's character. She is in love with a man who makes her want to be with him. He is a "dangerous man" who has a "limit" on how much he can take from her. He stomps on her feet as long as he can. He accuses her of being a "sting" and a "toop" . He even calls himself a "bad guy" and says that she is beginning to "fall in love" with the man. He tells her that she should shut her thoughts for the day and come to work. He says that he is tired of the "marketing department" and that he does not want to work with Roxane anymore. He goes to his office and finds that his desk is empty. It is a surprise to learn that the chief has retired. He thanks Roxane for her time and tells her to focus on work the next week. He also says that one of his bosses is coming to the office today and that she has prepared well for him. She says that the day of her pre-sentation is now here and that her new project will bring the company hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.
