About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a conversation between Roxane and the Chief of Police. Roxane asks the Chief why he is late for work. The Chief replies that he has been working late. He asks Roxane if she has forgotten her rail pass. She replies that she has, and he asks her if she forgot to shut down the Chief's computer. She tells him that the Chief is on his way to the Chief, and she asks him if he has forgotten his train pass. He says that he did not, and Roxane says that she had forgotten her train pass, and that everyone else had gone home. She asks if the Chief forgot to close down his train, and when he says no, she asks if he had forgotten to shut it up. When the Chief says yes, Roxane is surprised to see that he is still at work. She then asks him why he has not left the office. He tells her that everyone has gone home, and then he asks if there is anything else he can do. She says that there is something else she can do, but she does not know what it is. He then asks her why she has not gone home and she says that it is because she has been late. When he asks why she is late, she answers that she is working hard. She also asks why the Chief has not been home. He answers that he had been working hard, and finally she asks why he had not shut it down. She is surprised that he does not have a train pass and that he forgot his train. When she asks what he is doing, he replies that there was something else he could do. He had been sending information about a competitor's product, and asked that the product be used in the company's development of its products
