In this short scene, Hirokazu's mother, Shu-Tsushi, scolds her son for neglecting to thank her and her family for their hospitality during the holiday season. She also scolds him for saying that it is "hot" when they return from their trip to the city. She tells him that he is the first person she has ever seen who has been so excited about the holidays. He responds by saying that he has never seen anything like it, and that he wishes he could be as happy as she is. He then tells her that his face is hot, too, and he asks her to cover her chest with her clothing. She responds that she can do so, but that she will have to cover a few places. He tells her to "brave" since he is fat.
