The narrator tells us that he's a "couple - busting agency" , meaning that he has a sexual relationship with another man only for the sake of earning money. He's not worried about the other man's feelings for him, though, because he thinks he'll be fine with it. The narrator says that he doesn't think Mr. Kujo will ever worry about him, since he thinks that the other guy's "number" has been switched off or "out of our service area" . He says that's because he has an ulterior motive, which is that he wants to make sure that the guy will fall in love with him, even if it's just for a short period of time.
