The next morning, Hirokazu asks what happened to him on the test, and he says that he didn't have a chance to ask for anything. He's not sure if it's because he's still in love with her, or if it was because he was too busy studying for the exam. He doesn't want to tell her that, but he does want her to know that he did his best on the exam, and that he'll do his best in the future.
