The two of them reminisce about the past, and the future, and how they were "fated" to be together in the present. The narrator says that he doesn't understand what he's saying, but he does want to know if it's true that even if the future wasn't him, he'd still be there. He's not happy that the part of him that didn't change isn't changed. He says that being alone with her makes it easier for her to cry out when she's traveling with friends, and that's why they're so happy to be alone together.
