In this short scene, the Governess tells Nelly that she will make her into a butterfly. She tells Nelly to "gringle" and to "get away" from her lover. The Governess says that her body does not want to separate herself from the man she loves, and she is sure that if she fought him, he would kill her. She says that the panting of Nelly's skin will calm her nerves and make her feel as though she is in a beautiful butterfly.
