About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the mythical forces have killed a total of 32 people, 17 of whom were civilians. Only one person was left alive, and he was caught by the forces in time to save his life. The narrator tells us that this is the first time we've heard of a "miniature bomb" being used to kill people. We're not sure what this means, but we're guessing that it's a bomb that's been hidden in the mouth of a captain. The captain's mouth is full of something, and the narrator can't figure out what it is. It's not a bomb, he says, but a poison that'll kill anyone who tries to talk to it. He's sure that the captain has something to hide, but the narrator doesn't know. He wants to know what's going on with the captain, but he's afraid to tell her. He also wants to tell the captain that Lady Sammy is going to interrogate him too, but she won't let him go. She's so ungrateful, the narrator says, that when they get back, she'll be ungrateful to them all. He tells the narrator that he'll let him off today, but that he won''t tell her anything. He asks the narrator to pray that they don't have to find out about him. He says that he came to investigate the captain just for fun, and that he trusted the kid too much. The commander of the special forces, a guy named Gujarin, was a big fan of the kid, and Gujerin trusted him too much, too. So, the commander of this special forces came to
